Our Sea Freight Services

As an experienced logistics service provider, we offer you a comprehensive portfolio of sea freight services. We understand the specific requirements of various industries and adapt our solutions accordingly.

Reliability, cost efficiency and global reach are our top priorities in sea freight services. We ensure that your goods reach their destination safely and punctually – anywhere in the world.
Container Transport

Container Transport (FCL/LCL)
We offer both full container loads (FCL) and less than container loads (LCL). For FCL, you have the entire container exclusively for your goods. For LCL, your goods are consolidated with other shipments, which is particularly cost-effective for smaller quantities.

RoRo Transport

RoRo Transport (Roll-on/Roll-off)
For vehicles and mobile machinery, we offer RoRo services. Your vehicles are driven directly onto the ship and secured there. This method is particularly suitable for cars, trucks, construction machinery and other wheeled vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sea Freight

Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our sea freight services. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

  • What advantages does sea freight offer compared to other transport methods?
Sea freight offers numerous advantages: Very cost-effective for large quantities and long distances, high transport capacities, environmentally friendly compared to air freight, suitable for almost all types of goods, global reach to all continents, and the ability to transport oversized and heavy goods. Sea freight is particularly economical for non-urgent shipments and bulk goods.
  • What is the difference between FCL and LCL?
FCL (Full Container Load) means that you rent an entire container exclusively for your goods. This offers advantages such as faster handling, lower risk of damage, and no mixing with other goods. LCL (Less than Container Load) means that your goods share a container with shipments from other customers. This is more cost-effective for smaller quantities, but may mean longer transit times due to consolidation and deconsolidation processes. We are happy to advise you on which option is best suited for your specific requirements.
  • How does RoRo transport work for vehicles?
In RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) transport, vehicles are driven directly onto the ship via ramps and parked in designated areas. The vehicles are then professionally secured with straps and chocks to prevent movement during the voyage. This method is particularly suitable for cars, trucks, buses, construction machinery and other wheeled vehicles. RoRo transport is often faster and more cost-effective than container transport for vehicles, as no special loading equipment is required. We take care of all formalities and ensure that your vehicle is optimally prepared for transport.
  • What documents are required for sea freight?
For sea freight shipments, the following documents are usually required: Bill of Lading (B/L), Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin if required, customs declarations, and possibly special permits for certain goods categories. For vehicle transport, additional documents such as vehicle registration and insurance papers are required. Our experienced team supports you in preparing all required documents and ensures that all formalities are correctly completed to avoid delays.
  • How long does sea freight transport take?
Transport duration depends on various factors, including distance, route, port handling times and weather conditions. As guidelines: Europe to North America: 7-14 days, Europe to Asia: 20-35 days, Europe to Australia: 25-40 days, Europe to Africa: 7-21 days. These times refer to the pure sea voyage and do not include pre-carriage, customs clearance and on-carriage. For LCL shipments, additional time for consolidation and deconsolidation must be calculated. We are happy to inform you about the expected transport times for your specific route.
  • How are goods insured during sea freight?
For sea freight, we recommend taking out comprehensive marine cargo insurance that covers risks such as total loss, partial loss, general average and particular average. Standard carrier liability is limited and often insufficient for the actual value of the goods. Marine cargo insurance can be taken out for individual shipments or as an annual policy for regular shipments. The insurance covers risks during the entire transport chain from warehouse to warehouse. We are happy to arrange appropriate insurance for your shipment and advise you on the various coverage options.
